A friend of mine recently visited from out of town. I normally have to send her cards I can mail, so I thought I'd do something a little less small and flat. The card actually turned out so big it wouldn't fit in any of the envelopes I had!
As with most of my cards I started with the stamped image. I wanted the angel and dove to sparkle a bit and so stamped them on a glossy cardstock and cut them out with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment was masked and stamped (so it's on two lines rather than one).
I used a large square white cardstock for the card base, layered a piece of black cardstock and put a top layer of patterned paper with some flowers and curliques.
I die cut the window frame out of gold parchment paper, and the greenery on my Silhouette. The purple flowers were punched and have glitter glue in their centers. I also added a few pieces of fishing wire with some beads on the end.

Fluorescent Flower
I seem to be reaching for fluorescent colours lately. I did this card for a challenge, not realizing the challenge was already over. The challenge was to do something new. I wanted to try using distress ink reinkers and saw a video where someone blew the ink to make a cool tree. Not having a straw, I tried to blow on the ink to make my flower stem and leaf. Yeah, didn't work. I ended up using a stir stick (which I have around for spreading glue) to spread the ink. I also used it to spread the second line of ink into grass.
The flower is punched on a die cut circle and raised.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the card until I added the sentiment. Then I liked it. Kind of. Not my best card, but I'm getting out of my comfort zone, which is good.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollections
Stamp: Hero Arts - small solid flower; Kaisercraft - friendship sentiments
Ink: Hero Arts fluorescent pink
Distress reinter - peacock feather
Spellbinders standard circles small
