Masculine Dragonfly Card

I made two cards patterned off of this one by Stephanie Wincott of Clearly Besotted Stamps.  Tomorrow's card is the girly one, with a flourish.  For today's card I wondered if I could do a more masculine card, using a dragonfly instead of a butterfly.  Here's what I came up with.

I punched the border, stamped the background with ink (though the cattails tops were done in brown marker) and then inked and coloured the Hero Arts dragonfly on a piece of parchment before fussy cutting it out and glueing it on.  To give it some sparkle, I added a bit of glitter glue to the top (my Spica glitter pen didn't want to work on the parchment paper for some reason).  The paper curls naturally when you use markers on parchment.

I've decided to wait on adding a sentiment until I have a purpose/recipient for the card.

Here's a close-up of the dragonfly.

I like how your cat tails stop midway, implying the beginning of water. Very nicely done!
