With Deepest Sympathy card

Sorry for the long hiatus.  I hadn't intended to be away from card crafting for so long, but my other blog and trip plans started taking up more and more time so...  And then when I started making cards again I was too lazy to photograph them and blog about them.  I'm hoping to get back to posting one or two cards a week.

This is a card I made a while back.  I stamped the vase, sentiment and shelf in black in, and the flowers in grey.  I then scribbled some pink water based marker on my stamp block and used a water brush to apply it to the flowers.  As a finishing touch I added glossy accents to the vase (which looks great and gives the card some dimension but warped the page a bit).

With Deepest Sympathy

This is a card I made a while back for a friend who had a death in the family.

I used gelatos to make a green background then white heat embossed a background stamp over it.  I die cut a small frame and stamped a rose using water based markers (so I could colour the leaves green and the petals red).  I added a piece of dark red velvet ribbon, edged in gold as a border and stamped the sentiment.

Showers of Sympathy

An odd choice for my next card, I know, but I did this last week and I don't want my cards to get too backed up.  This is the first dedicated sympathy card I've made.

The clouds are from the Um Wow Studio kit, the jewels from the dollar store (they included the only tear shaped ones I have), the sentiment is from Hot off the Press's Stamp and Punch set and was stamped in white Versa Magic ink.  The medallion is a Spellbinders standard oval large die cut, with Local King Rubber's poppy 2 stamp done with several crayola markers (I did the 2 tone thing again).  To finish it off, I sponged some grey memento ink around the flowers.
