CAS Birthday

Due to a large amount of reading I have to do for my other blog, I may be posting a bit more sporadically here over the next little while.  Also, expect more clean and simple cards, as I can whip a bunch of those up fast.  Like this card.

I stamped the large flower and sentiment in dark blue, stamped the smaller flower in light blue, added a strip of blue washi tape and voila.  A nice CAS birthday card in 2 minutes, 46 seconds.  (Ignore the crosshatched patterning around the top.  I tried photographing my cards in a different location, hoping for more even lighting and instead got shadows from the window screen.)

Wishing You a Magical Day

This is a quick card I whipped up yesterday for the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge to feature stars.

I started out by stamping the sentiment on the bottom of the light blue cardstock in dark blue ink.  Then I stamped the boy wizard.  I added the tape (which has some stars on it, in addition to the shamrocks and rainbows).  Lastly, I added the glitter glue starburst/firework at the end of the wand.  Not sure I'm happy with how that turned out.  All this in 5 minutes.

I thought the card lacked something, and so added some yellow glitter glue to the stars and moons on the wizard's hat and cloak so they stand out more.  Finished in 6:10.

Friends are angels without wings.

ONE LAYER CARD

FUR or FEATHERS

I came across several posts about a new card challenge from Pretty Pink Posh: 10 Minute Craft Dash #1, free for all and so decided to combine that with this week's One Layer Less is More challenge: fur or feathers.  I'll admit I'm cheating a bit on the LIM challenge, using an angel, but I justify it by saying she's got wings and she's holding a bird. :)

I started by gathering my supplies, knowing I'd only have 10 minutes to put the card together.  Once I started the clock I cut my cardstock, lined up my stamps on my large acryllic block, inked and stamped them.  I then used chalk to give the angel's dress a bit of colour.  A little gold gel pen to the halo and voila!  Six minutes and 18 seconds.  After a few moments I decided it was a little TOO bare, so I added the ribbon.  Let's add another minute for that, so 7 minutes 18 seconds.  I must say, despite being a quick card and quite simple, I rather like this one.  And I LOVE the sentiment.
